Facilitating Change
As per guidelines of the ROME
strategy for the countries of South East Asia Region, WHO
* MED faculties
coordinated and supported the "Regional Conference on Medical Education for
the Twenty-first Century" held at BP Koirala
Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan,
1994
* MED has been promoting active collaboration with educational
institutions within and outside the
country. Resource persons of MED were involved in the
process of designing the Bachelor of
Medicnie Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)curriculum for BPKIHS at
Dharan MED hosted the
"Regional
Teacher Training Programme for Health Personnel
Education" for South East Asia
Regional Office
(SEARO) of WHO in 1997.
* MED has been actively involved in developing a "National Health
Professions Education Policy
for Nepal". In 1997 MED in collaboration with MOH and
WHO organized "National Consultive
Meetings on Development of Medical Education Policy for
Nepal". MED is doing a follow-up of
the activity.
* In consultation with Nepal Medical Council and WHO support MED has
been entrusted to
develop
Accreditation System in Nepal.
